VOLUNTEERS
Bastrop County ESD No. 2 is always recruiting new volunteer members who wish to actively participate as firefighters or in the non-operational capacity as a support member. We are always looking to increase membership. Regardless if you have no public safety experience or if you are a veteran looking for a new challenge, there is room for you here at Bastrop County ESD No. 2.
How you can make an impact?
Volunteering with ESD No. 2 is great way to support our local community or even prepare for a paid career in the fire and rescue service. We are looking for people from a wide age range and backgrounds. If you ever thought about becoming a firefighter, an EMT, or just helping in the community, now is your chance to make it happen.
What are the Requirements?
- Must live within the ESD No. 2 District. Click here for District Map.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a full background check. (Same one used for a CHL or adoption.) www.dps.texas.gov
- Must have a clear driving record. (Type AR) www.dps.texas.gov
- Required 24hrs of participation a month, with a minimum of 2hrs of training. (calls, shifts, training, events, or any combo thereof)
- Participation on Thursday nights from 7:00pm till dismissed:
- 1st Thursday - Operations Meeting
- Quarterly - January, April, July, & October
- 2nd Thursday - Maintenance Night
- 3rd Thursday - Training
- 4th Thursday - Training
- 5th Thursday - Family Feed (occasional event)
- 1st Thursday - Operations Meeting
- Respect for fellow members and the public.
- Follow lawful orders from the leadership of the department.
- Completion of all required training, certifications, and tasks in a timely manner.
- Proper use and care of department issued gear and equipment.
- Respond to emergencies when available.
- Must meet all physical requirements.
